New Delhi – Delhi High Court refused the petition to ban the book ‘Muhammad’ written by Jitendra Tyagi (earlier Waseem Rizvi) who converted from Islam to Hindu Dharma. The petitioner claimed that the book had contained remarks against Islam, the Quran and Prophet Muhammad. The petition was filed by Qamar Hasnain who had also sought damages worth Rs 2,05,00,000 to make Rizvi stop from committing such acts in the future.

While refusing the petition, the High Court said that it was baseless. The demands made were not personal. No personal or legal harm appeared to have been caused to the petitioner. Since there was no provision in the law that such a petition might be heard, it was dismissed.
