UK farmers generate electricity from cow dung

Cow dung of one cow can provide electricity to 3 houses throughout the year

London (UK) – Now electricity is generated from cow dung. UK farmers have found a new way of generating electricity using cow dung. A group of farmers have made powder from cow dung. They made batteries using this powder. An experiment conducted by these farmers produced electricity from one kg cow dung which was enough to run a vacuum cleaner for 5 hours.

Arla Dairy in the UK has made batteries out of cow dung powder. It is called Cow Battery. It is possible to iron clothes for up to 3.5 hours using this battery.

Battery expert GP Batteries has claimed that dung from a cow can provide electricity to 3 houses throughout the year. 1 kg of cow dung can generate 3.75 kilowatts of electricity. In such a scenario, electricity can be supplied to 12 lakh British houses if the electricity is generated from 4 lakh 60 thousand cows. Arla Dairy produces 10 lakh tons of cow dung a year.
