Firecrackers burst in some Muslim-majority areas of the country after Pakistan’s cricket match victory

“If firecrackers can be burst to celebrate Pakistan’s victory, why to ban them only for Diwali”, asks Virender Sehwag

Editorial comment

Would the Hindus-by-birth at least now realise that India is on the path to becoming an Islamic country ? Would they be determined for the establishment of Hindu Rashtra at least now ? Or are they waiting for the similar situation that happened on Navratri in Bangladesh ?

New Delhi – Cricketer Virender Sehwag has criticised the ban on Diwali celebrations and has questioned the bursting of firecrackers after India’s loss to Pakistan in the T20 World Cup match. “Firecrackers are banned during Diwali, but yesterday in parts of India there were firecrackers to celebrate Pakistan’s victory. Oh, they must have been celebrating the victory of cricket. Then, what’s the harm in fireworks on Diwali. Why this hypocrisy? Why does all the preaching come only during Diwali?”, tweeted the former Indian opener.

Supreme Court Advocate Shashank Shekhar Jha has tagged Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a video post of firecrackers being set off by religious fanatics in the Muslim-majority Seemapuri area of Delhi, warning, ‘If your Government opposes bursting of firecrackers during Diwali, you will have to face me in the Court directly’.

Doordarshan journalist Ashok Srivastav tweeted the video, saying, ‘What used to happen in Kashmir is now happening in Delhi. Hindus cannot burn firecrackers on Diwali; however, Muslims can burn firecrackers for Pakistan’.
