Guwahati (Assam) – The situation in Afghanistan will have repercussions in Jammu and Kashmir hence, we must be prepared to face that situation. The key is to close, monitor, and patrol our borders. Our focus should be on who is coming into the country from outside. Those who enter our country should be thoroughly checked, said Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), General Bipin Rawat, at an event here. “Citizens need to be made aware of internal security,” he said.

General Rawat further said,
Ordinary citizens and tourists will suffer from this rigorous checking, but they have to understand that it is all for their safety. No one will come to protect us; we have to protect ourselves, our people, and our property. The internal security of the country is a matter of concern for us. We have to train the citizens to face this.

If every citizen of the country understands his duty, we can maintain the internal security of the country. Citizens should fulfil their duty regarding the internal security of the country. If every citizen does his duty, we can face this situation.
You need to know who your neighbours are. If we are vigilant, no terrorist can come and stay next to us. If anyone thinks anything suspicious, citizens should ask questions and inform the Police.
