Terrorist attack in Britain

London (Britain) – UK Conservative MP David Amess was stabbed to death in the Belfairs Methodist Church in Leigh-on- Sea, east of London on 15th October. The incident took place when he was in a meeting with constituents.


London Police have declared the incident as a terrorist attack. The Police have taken the accused into custody and seized a knife from him. The Counter-Terrorism Policing Unit is leading the investigation of the attack. 69-year-old Amess had represented his constituency since 1997. In 2016, Labour MP Jo Cox was also stabbed to death in his constituency. MPs were also attacked in 2010 and 2000.
