Hindu Janajagruti Samiti felicitates Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare as he enters his 100th year

Pune (Maharashtra) – The great historian, Padma Vibhushan laureate Balwant Moreshwar Purandare popularly known as Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare (born 29 July 1922), a sage-like personality who is venerable not only in Maharashtra but also across the country, turned 99 recently. Krushnaji Patil and Parag Gokhale of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti (HJS) sought his blessings at his residence on the occasion. Patil felicitated him with a garland and presented him with a photo frame of Shrikrushna and some books published by Sanatan Sanstha. A letter honouring his great work was also gifted to him on behalf of Sadguru Charudatta Pingale, National Guide, HJS.

Highlights of the event –

1. Krushnaji Patil conveyed Shivshahir Babasaheb Purandare ‘namaskar’ from Samiti’s inspiration Paratpar Guru (Dr.) Jayant Balaji Athavale Babasaheb touched his forehead to the gifted items.
2. Babasaheb immediately read the letter given to him by HJS.
3. The family members of Babasaheb said, “You have bought for him what he likes (Sanatan Sanstha books). He would finish reading these books by the evening”.

Babasaheb told Samiti workers, “I am experiencing so much happiness meeting you, which I would not experience eating my favourite food. I feel indebted to Ishwar, I received so much love.
