Sriharikota (Andhra Pradesh) – Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) failed to send ‘Earth Observation Satellite (EOS)-3 into orbit. The satellite was sent from Satish Dhavan Space Centre at Sriharikota at 5.43 a.m. on 12th August 2021; but a few seconds before the scheduled time, its cryogenic machine developed a snag and the satellite could not be sent to its assigned orbit. It also lost contact with the Control Room due to a technical anomaly. Later, K. Sivan, the Chief of ISRO gave information about the failure of the launch. It may be mentioned that the launching of this satellite was stalled thrice earlier. The satellite would have helped in keeping an eye on the borders of China and Pakistan, along with India’s borders.
