Madras High Court orders ‘Status-quo’ on recruitment of the Head priest in the temple

Editorial comment

  • Realise that when Government takes over the management of temples, it recruits anybody as temple-priest and assistants, thereby abusing Hindu traditions.

Chennai – Madras High Court has ordered ‘Status quo’ on recruitment of head priest in Hindu Temples. The interim injunction was granted while entertaining the writ petition of All India Adi Shaiva Shivacharya Seva Sangam. The next hearing is on 25th August. Advertisements were published on 6th July this year inviting applications for the posts of the head priest, assistants, etc. All India Adi Shaiva Shivacharyarya Seva Sangam had filed a petition in the High Court pleading for the cancellation of the advertisement.
