Dwarkadhish saved us from a great disaster, locals say
Dwarka (Gujarat) – A bolt of lightning struck the flag atop the famous Dwarkadhish Temple in Gujarat’s Dwarka District on the afternoon of 13th July. Though the lightning did not damage the temple, the flag got torn slightly. When the lightning struck, worship was going on in the temple and devotees were also present. Locals told, ‘This is the first time that lightning has struck a part of the temple. The people of Dwarka, where Dwarkadhish (that is, Shrikruishna Himself) is enthroned, will not face any crisis. Dwarkadhish saved us from a major disaster’. Video of the incident is viral on social media. The area surrounding the temple is very densely populated and would have been severely damaged if lightning had struck in the area. The flag hoisted on the Dwarkadhish Temple has a special significance. It is called a ’52-feet flag’.

Importance of Dwarkadhish Temple
Dwarkadhish Temple is considered to be the most ancient and Holiest Temple in Gujarat. It is located on the banks of the river Gomti. This is the temple of Shrikrushna and is considered to be one of the few major temples of Shrikrushna in the country. The temple is about 2,200 years old and is said to have been built by Vajranabh. In the vicinity of this temple are temples of Subhadra, Balaram, Revati, Vasudev, Rukmini, and many other Deities. Lakhs of people visit the area to watch the celebration of Shrikrushna Janmashtami.
