Haridwar (Uttarakhand) – “India has always been and will remain a ‘Hindu Rashtra’, but the so-called secularists conspired and got the word ‘Secular’ inserted in the Preamble of the Constitution”, said H.H. Swami Anand Swaroop Maharaj (President of ‘Shankaracharya Parishad’) in a press conference. He added that a petition has been given to the President with a demand to remove the word ‘Secular’ from the Indian Constitution and replace it with ‘Hindu Rashtra’.

‘Shankaracharya Parishad’ has started a nationwide campaign for this demand. If the demand for ‘Hindu Rashtra’ is not met, the Saints will be forced to descend on the streets in Delhi, warned H.H. Swami Anand Swaroop Maharaj.

To discuss this issue, many Panchayats were held in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, New Delhi, Bengal, etc. H.H. Swami Anand Swaroop Maharaj informed that the ‘Hindu Rashtra’ campaign had the support of Sages, Saints, Mahants, Akhadas, Mutts, Religious Chiefs, as well as all 4 Shankaracharyas. More than 10,000 Saints would write to the President and the Prime Minister to raise this demand. With the support of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, this campaign will get more momentum.
