After effect of united opposition by Pakistani Hindus !

Pak lawmaker apologises, and deletes objectionable tweet on Hindu Gods

It is highly commendable that though a minority living under constant fear of the religious fanatics, Hindus in Pakistan have unitedly compelled a lawmaker from the ruling party to apologise. The Indian-born namesake Hindus can learn a lesson or two from this.

Islamabad (Pakistan) – Aamir Liyaquat Hussain, a lawmaker from the ruling Pakistan Tehreeq-e-Insaaf (PTI), has been compelled by Pakistani Hindus to apologise for his derogatory tweet on Hindu Gods. He has deleted the objectionable tweet. In his statement Hussain, an Islamic televangelist, mentioned that he has become aware that he has hurt the religious sentiments of the Hindu community. ‘I respect all faiths, this is what my religion has taught me’. (If this were true, he would not have posted the content at all. He is apologising now because of the uproar and compulsion by Hindus! – Editor)

Hussain had published this tweet to mock the opposition leader Maryam Nawaz. Rameshkumar Vankwani, president of the Pakistan Hindu Council, tweeted ‘strongly condemn this shameful act by someone who claims to be a religious scholar also but does not know how to respect other religions. Delete this tweet immediately otherwise we reserve the right to demand strict action under the Blasphemy Act and protest across the country’. Liaquat Hussain subsequently deleted the tweet and apologised.
