New Delhi – Addressing a press conference, General Naravane said that Pakistan and China joining hands poses a potent threat for India. “Pakistan promotes terrorism and we will not tolerate it. It is our policy. Terror activities will be countered with the time and place of our choice. This message has been sent to the neighbouring country”, he said.
General Naravane added, “With the increasing cooperation between China and Pakistan in the military as well as non-military sectors, India will have to be prepared to deal with a two-front threat scenario.
We have countered the challenges in the past too. Indian forces have increased the patrolling in Ladakh as well as on the line of control. There have been 8 rounds of commander level meetings between India and China, with the 9th round to follow soon.
We hope a peaceful environment at the borders will prevail; however, we are fully prepared to counter any misadventure. The Army will be further equipped with the help of technology, taking challenges in the future into consideration”.
