India celebrates 72nd Republic Day

New Delhi – The 72nd Republic Day was celebrated across India enthusiastically, given the current corona pandemic. Along with the military parade, tableaux of various states and sections were presented on the Rajpath in Delhi. A contingent of Bangladeshi soldiers participated in the Republic Day march for the first time in history. The recently inducted IAF Rafale fighter jets also took part in the flypast. It is for the first time in 55 years of the Republic Day celebrations that no foreign guests marked their presence in the ceremony. President Ram Nath Kovind took the salute. Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with the ministers of the cabinet and prominent personalities were present for the celebration. Though scaled down from previous years, spectators took part in large numbers to witness the parade..
