‘Elections are not supposed to be fought from within the 5-star hotels’ – Gulam Nabi Azad

Azad has just given a trailer of what Congress is; whereas, the fact is that the Congress has completely disconnected itself from the people.

New Delhi – Congress leader Gulam Nabi Azad has slammed the functioning of the party with sharp criticism. He said that the root problem with party leaders is, as soon as they get the ticket, they want to book a 5-star hotel with deluxe facilities, roam around in luxury cars and avoid places with bad roads. He also said that the elections cannot be fought from within the 5-star hotels and if the Party wants to win, it must change its ways. (People just expect the Congress to try to save its existence, let alone succeed in elections. – Editor) Another senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Kapil Sibbal had criticised the party’s functioning a few days ago.

In addition to this, Azad said that many are blaming Party’s central leadership, while the block or district-level leaders are completely detached from the ordinary people. When anyone gets any post, they just print the letterhead and visiting cards assuming their work is done; when the actual work is supposed to begin.
