New Delhi – On questioning 166 Tablighi Jamaatis, they have admitted that Maulana Muhammad Saad Kandhalvi, the chief of the Tablighi Jamaat, had asked them to stay there even after 20th March, that is, after the programme of Nizamuddin Markaz had concluded. Most of these Jamaatis said that they voluntarily wanted to leave the Markaz, but Saad prevented them from doing so.
Maulana Saad is currently absconding and has claimed that he is COVID-19 positive himself. The Police have asked him to get tested, but he has refused. Saad fears that the Government inquiry and testing will prove that he is not coronavirus positive and the Police will take him in custody.
