New Delhi – Union Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has told at a news briefing that domestic flights between two Green Zones may be resumed after Lockdown 3.0.
Puri stated –
The Aviation Ministry has started talks with various flight operators regarding commencement commercial flights in the country after the lockdown is withdrawn on 17th May; however, services will be carried out in a step by step manner. Domestic flight operations will be resumed initially. In the next phase, the commencement of International flights will be considered.
The categorisation of various cities into different zones is also constantly changing due to variable levels of infections of coronavirus.
Air-fares likely to be expensive to maintain social distancing
Government is discussing with flight operators to maintain social distance between passengers during the journey in the planes; however, these operators say that to maintain social distancing, some space in the aircraft will have to be kept vacant and passengers will have to pay more for tickets.
