Mumbai – The Uniform Civil Code is likely to be implemented in Maharashtra soon. The draft has already been prepared, and a committee is expected to be constituted within the next two weeks, according to the concerned officials. However, the committee’s composition, scope of work, and powers are yet to be finalised.
Last week, Minister of State for Home Yogesh Kadam informed the Legislative Assembly about the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code. He had stated, “A committee headed by a former Judge of the High Court will be constituted to prepare the draft of the law.”
