Temple committee orders enquiry

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) – Suspicion is being expressed on social media that donations have been stolen at the famous Badrinath Dham in the State. After this news went viral on social media, the ‘Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee’ ordered an enquiry into the matter. Following the allegation of theft of donations at Shriram Temple, the allegation of a similar theft at Badrinath Dham has created confusion among devotees.

1. Hemant Dwivedi, Chairman of the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee, said that the committee has taken the allegations made on social media very seriously. A special committee has been constituted to conduct a detailed enquiry into the matter, and explanations have also been sought from the employees against whom suspicion has been expressed.
2. It has been alleged on social media that the main accused in this case is Dwivedi’s personal secretary. Refuting this report, Dwivedi clarified that the concerned person is not his personal secretary. That individual is a regular Government employee of the Temple Committee. He assured that if these allegations are found to be true during the investigation, no guilty person will be shielded, and strict action will be taken against them.
3. Sohan Singh Rangad, Chief Executive Officer of the Temple Committee, said that the enquiry committee will submit its report after examining all available evidence, CCTV footage and recording the statements of the concerned individuals. If any misconduct or irregularity is found during the investigation, strict legal and departmental action will be taken against the guilty under the ‘Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee Act, 1939’ and the employees’ code of conduct.
4. As this is a sensitive matter, Chief Executive Officer Sohan Singh Rangad appealed to the public not to believe any incomplete information circulating on social media or spread rumours until the official investigation is completed and the truth comes to light.
