17,000 Hindus in South Africa gather to recite the Hanuman Chalisa !

‘Chinmaya Mission South Africa’ organised the spiritual programme ‘Man to Hanuman’

Chatsworth (South Africa) – ‘Chinmaya Mission South Africa’ recently organised a spiritual programme titled ‘Man to Hanuman’ (From Man to Hanuman). It became the largest gathering of Hindus in Africa’s history. More than 17,000 devotees came together and recited the Hanuman Chalisa 27 times, Mr Aparajit Ayyar of ‘Chinmaya Mission’ told a representative of ‘Sanatan Prabhat’.

It was the dream of Pujya Swami Abhedananda Saraswati, the spiritual head of ‘Chinmaya Mission South Africa’, to bring together all Hindus under one umbrella by setting aside all social differences such as language, region and economic status. This dream was realised through this glorious programme. The event was also organised to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Global Chinmaya Mission.

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent a special message conveying his best wishes for the success of the programme. In his message, he praised the contribution of ‘Chinmaya Mission’ and highlighted the importance of faith and unity through prayer. The programme was also attended by renowned bhajan singer Mr Anup Jalota.
