Mumbai – The film 3 Idiots, starring Aamir Khan, was inspired by the life of Sonam Wangchuk. Currently, Wangchuk is on a hunger strike demanding the resignation of the Union Education Minister. When asked about the protest on its 20th day, Khan made the blatant claim, ‘I didn’t know Wangchuk before this film,’ while simultaneously praising his work.

Even before the release of 3 Idiots, Aamir Khan and his wife had attended an event where Sonam Wangchuk was honoured with the ‘Real Heroes’ award for his work.
