MLA Humayun Kabir warns of approaching the court

Kolkata – Muslim organizations have opposed the decision taken by the BJP Government in Bengal to make the singing of “Vande Mataram” mandatory in all madrasas in the state. MLA Humayun Kabir, president of the “Aam Aadmi Unnayan Party,” said that people associated with madrasas would never agree to this decision. He stated that the Government does not provide any financial aid to run madrasas. Muslims operate madrasas through their own donations, where poor children are taught the Quran. In such a situation, Government policies cannot be imposed on them. Whether Hindu or Muslim, everyone has the right to practice their own faith. If necessary, they will seek justice in court.
1. Maulanas say that this is a violation of their religious freedom. They warned that they would launch protests on the streets against the order.
2. Mohammad Ashraf Ali Qasmi, head of the “Kolkata Khilafat Committee,” also opposed the Government’s decision. He said, “We live in this country and we love the nation; (Then why is this love never visibly demonstrated? – Editor). But we cannot ‘worship’ the nation. According to Islam, Muslims worship only Allah. Some lines in ‘Vande Mataram’ go against the fundamental principles of our religion. The Government should withdraw this decision.”
The Government should focus on development, not religion!
Muslim organisations said that the Government’s job is to provide employment and ensure development. The Government should focus on healthcare, roads, and law and order. Interfering in anyone’s religious matters is not the Government’s job. (Why is this principle forgotten while making demands for facilities on the basis of religion? – Editor)
“If this rule exists in schools, why not in madrasas?” – Minister for Madrasa Education
State Madrasa Education Minister Khudiram Tudu said that, “If this rule applies in schools, there is no reason why it should not apply in madrasas as well. The Government has abolished all previous rules and implemented this order.”
Demand by Maulana Sajid Rashidi, President of the “All India Imam Association” “Humayun Kabir is a puppet and should be jailed!”
Maulana Sajid Rashidi, president of the “All India Imam Association,” opposed MLA Humayun Kabir’s statement that cows would definitely be sacrificed on Bakri Eid. Rashidi said, “This man has no independent existence. He is a puppet of the Government. Such a person should be in jail. Earlier, the Trinamool Congress sheltered him, and now the BJP has done the same.”
