Madarasas will have to submit reports to the government

Kolkata – The BJP government in West Bengal has made singing of the national song “Vande Mataram” mandatory in all madarasas functioning under the State’s Department of Minority Affairs and Madarasa Education. This rule will come into immediate effect for madarasas, as well as government-aided and unaided recognised madarasas. Accordingly, singing “Vande Mataram” during the morning prayer assembly before classes begin has been made compulsory. All madarasas will now have to submit a report to the department regarding the implementation of this order.

Earlier, during morning prayers in madarasas, the National Anthem “Jana Gana Mana” and the Bengali song “Ananta Asim Premamoy Tumi” by poet Golam Mostafa used to be sung.

Editorial Perspective

The orders issued by the BJP government makes it evident how much appeasement of Muslims had been carried out by Mamata Banerjee’s previous government!
