₹1 Crore reward announced for beheading TMC MP Sayoni Ghosh

  • Announcement by BJP Leader Dr Pradeep Dixit, Chairman of Sikandrabad Municipality in Uttar Pradesh.

  • Allegation of Ghosh sharing a post insulting Deity Shiv on social media.

Bulandshahr (UP) – Dr Pradeep Dixit, Chairman of the Sikandrabad Municipality in Bulandshahr district and a BJP leader, has announced a reward of ₹1 crore for anyone who beheads Trinamool Congress MP Sayoni Ghosh from West Bengal. His announcement is linked to an old social media post insulting the Shivalinga associated with Sayoni Ghosh.

1. A video of Pradeep Dixit has gone viral on social media in which he is heard saying, “I worship Deity Shiv for one hour every day. I am deeply hurt by the act committed by Trinamool MP Sayoni Ghosh. Whoever brings her severed head will be rewarded with ₹1 crore.” Dixit made this statement during a protest in Sikandrabad. During the protest, organisers described Sayoni Ghosh’s post as an “insult to Deities”.

2. Bulandshahr Congress district president Ziaur Rahman objected to Dixit’s statement and demanded Police action against him. Rahman said, “How can women remain safe when such people are in the party? He is announcing a reward for the murder of a woman. This is shameful, and the senior leadership of the party should take appropriate action against him. We demand that a criminal case be registered.”

3. BJP district president Vikas Chauhan said that this was Dixit’s personal opinion and had no connection with the party.

What’s the whole issue?

In 2015, Sayoni Ghosh had shared a post on her social media account, which again came into public attention during the Assembly elections held in 2021 and later in 2026. Earlier too, a case had been registered against Ghosh over this post. Ghosh had clarified that her account had been hacked in 2015, and it was the hacker who had made the post. The post was deleted soon after the account was restored.
