Student wearing Tulsi mala denied entry during NEET examination !

New Delhi – Videos of strict checking of students at NEET examination centres a few days ago have gone viral on social media. In one video, a student wearing a burqa was allowed entry into the examination centre after only facial verification. In another video, however, a Hindu student wearing a Tulsi mala was allegedly forced to remove it before being permitted entry. This has led to widespread anger in society. The NEET examination is conducted for students seeking admission into MBBS and other medical courses. On 3 May, more than 20 lakh 5 thousand students across the country appeared for the NEET examination.

1.   The first video is from Barmer district in Rajasthan. It shows a student wearing a burqa being allowed entry into the examination centre after only her face was identified.

2.   After watching this video, many people questioned how candidates wearing burqas were being allowed into examination centres despite such strict verification procedures.

3.   Another video is from Surat in Gujarat. There, considerable commotion occurred after a student was allegedly denied entry for wearing a Tulsi mala. In the video, the student’s father raised several objections regarding the strict verification process. He also stated, “We are in Surat, not Pakistan.”

4.   Following this, discussions began on social media that while the checking process was so strict that even Hindu religious symbols worn by Hindu students were not spared, a Muslim student was allegedly allowed entry wearing a burqa. In reality, the NEET examination rules permit hijab (a garment covering the head and neck worn by Muslim women), but not the burqa.

5.   The third video is from Sikar in Rajasthan. In it, even the drawstrings and chains of candidates’ pyjamas were cut off before they were granted entry into the examination centre.

Editorial Perspective

Such incidents highlight that merely having a Hindutva-oriented Government is not enough; the entire system must also be Hindutva-oriented. Only then will the problems and interests of Hindus truly be protected !
