India stands in firm solidarity with the UAE and reiterates its support for the peaceful resolution of all issues through dialogue and diplomacy. Ensuring safe and unimpeded navigation through the Strait of Hormuz is vital for enduring regional peace, stability and global energy security.’
Meanwhile, India’s Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that such attacks and harm to civilians are unacceptable and must stop immediately. India supports peace and stability in West Asia through dialogue and diplomacy.
Iran denies responsibility
Iran has not officially accepted responsibility for the attack. However, its Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that the United States and the UAE should avoid escalating tensions.
An Iranian military official also said that there was no intention to attack the UAE or any oil facility and blamed rising tensions on US military policies.
US destroys 7 Iranian naval vessels
The United States reportedly destroyed seven small fast Iranian naval vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, Iran allegedly attacked an oil facility in the UAE. Iran denied that any of its vessels were hit. The UAE stated that the main oil port at Fujairah was targeted, causing a fire and injuring three individuals.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi remarked that the incidents in the Strait highlight that there is no military solution to the political crisis.
