Enraged Hindus thrash Maulavi, Parents of victims also arrested for arguing with Police

  • A maulvi from Ghatkopar lured small Hindu girls to his house and sexually exploited them!

  • (A Maulavi is a religious leader of Islam)

Mumbai – Two Hindu young girls (age 5 and 6 years) playing outside their house were taken to his home by their neighbour, Maulvi Firoz Iqbal Sheikh (35 years) and sexually exploited in Ghatkopar (West). Enraged Hindus thrashed the maulvi for such a beastly act. Police tried to disperse the large crowd. The mob tried to pull the maulvi when he was taken by the Police with them, leading to arguments; therefore, the police registered a case even against the parents and relatives and arrested the parents.

On 25.04.2026, around 8.00 p.m., the maulvi told the small girls that their parents were at his house and took them home. He then removed their clothes and sexually exploited them. One of them managed to run away and told her mother what happened to her. Her mother immediately went to the maulvi’s house when he was trying to molest the other girl. The woman brought her daughters out of the maulvi’s house and filed a complaint with the Ghatkopar Police Station.

Hindus tried to take the maulvi into their custody

After the incident, enraged Hindus gathered outside maulvi Firoz’s house in large numbers. Police reached there, took him out of his house, and were taking him to the Police station under security. The enraged mob asked the Police to hand him over to them. It resulted in arguments between the Police and the enraged mob.

Hindus stage demonstrations against the arrest of the parents of the victims

Police arrested the parents of the victims to disperse the crowd, which infuriated the Hindus more, and they gathered outside the Ghatkopar Police station to condemn the parents’ arrest. Hindus staged demonstrations led by the former MP and BJP leader Kirit Somayya at 2.00 a.m. outside the Police station, demanding the parents’ release. BJP MLA Parag Shah and other leaders were also present.

Editorial Perspective

Arresting parents of the victimised girls is like arresting an ascetic for a theft instead of the actual thief.
