“Decide on a ceasefire within 3 days, otherwise oil pipelines will explode” : Trump

Washington (USA) – US President Donald Trump on Sunday issued a fresh warning to Iran, saying it has just three days to agree to a ceasefire or face severe consequences for its oil infrastructure. In an interview with Fox News, Trump claimed that if Iran is unable to continue exporting oil due to the ongoing blockade, its pipelines could fail under pressure.

“When you have lines of vast amounts of oil pouring through your system, if for any reason that line is closed because you can’t continue to put it into containers or ships, which has happened to them, they have no ships because of the blockade,” Trump said.

“What happens is that line explodes from within, both mechanically and in the earth. They say they only have about three days left before that happens. And when it explodes, you can never, regardless, you can never rebuild it the way it was,” he added.

Trump further claimed that even if reconstruction were attempted, the pipelines would only operate at about half their previous capacity. He linked the situation to Iran’s inability to store or transport oil amid restrictions, warning that once storage options are exhausted, “a very bad thing” would occur.

“When you have to turn it off because you have no place to store this oil, either put it on ships or storage tanks, which they are just about finished with, a very bad thing is going to happen,” he said.

The US President also signalled openness to negotiations in the same interview, stating that Iran could reach out directly to Washington. “If they want to talk, they can come to us, or they can call us. You know, there is a telephone. We have nice, secure lines,” he said.
