Kerala temple sees Christian devotional song performance, Hindu organisations express outrage !

Kottayam (Kerala) – A major controversy has erupted after a Christian devotional song was performed during a festival at the Shri Mahavishnu temple here. Hindu organisations and prominent leaders have strongly condemned the incident.

1. During the temple programme, a bhajan troupe was presenting a devotional piece titled ‘Nandagovindam’. At that time, the troupe’s lead singer Navin Mohan stated that a local church had extended support for the festival by providing facilities such as parking arrangements. As a symbol of religious harmony, they were dedicating the next song. Following this, the troupe performed a Christian devotional song.

2. Defending the act, Navin Mohan said that just as lamps are lit in temples, lamps are also lit in churches. The song was sung to express gratitude for the cooperation extended. He added that devotion transcends religious boundaries.

3. The bhajan troupe later released a video on Instagram stating that they had not crossed any limits, as they did not perceive any such boundaries. They clarified that there was no intention to hurt anyone’s sentiments.

4. The temple committee has also supported the bhajan troupe. It stated that people of different religions regularly contribute to temple activities and that no wrongdoing had occurred due to the song.

Have you ever heard of Hindu devotional songs praising Hindu Deities being sung inside a church or a mosque ? It is only Hindus who aggressively preach so-called secularism and end up harming their own religious identity !
