Church running in the residence reserved for Dy Superintendent of Yerawada Mental Hospital (Pune)

Poor patients’ relatives being converted using inducements

Pune – A ‘church’ is being run in the government residence reserved for the deputy superintendent of the regional mental hospital in Yerawada. Social activists have accused that hospital superintendent is responsible for this. Not only are prayer meetings held at this place, but social activists have pointed out that relatives of poor patients from all over the State are being converted by offering financial and emotional inducements. Inducements like curing the patient, children’s education, job are being offered.

Social activist Shashikant Satote said that despite having custody of 138 acres of land, a ‘church’ is being run in a government bungalow in the jurisdiction of superintendent, and a trap of conversion is being laid, which is very serious. All these cases should be investigated immediately, and legal action should be taken.

Superintendent in charge of the Yerwada Regional Mental Hospital, Srinivas Kolod, said that we suspected that a prayer room is being run at the said place 3-4 months ago. (Then why was no action taken for so long ? – Editor). The person concerned was also made aware of it. The person is an employee of the mental hospital and has been living there for the past 15 to 16 years. If something like this is really happening there, the said bungalow will be vacated and appropriate action will be taken. (When government property is being misused, the administration only gives verbal warning to the concerned, which raises doubts as to whether the administration is tacitly supporting this kind of thing ? If an employee who has been living there for 15 to 16 years is doing such an unauthorized act, why has no strict action been taken against him till now ? – Editor).

Editorial Perspective

This is a terrible conspiracy to convert Hindus ! Criminal cases should be registered against such people immediately and strict legal action should be taken, otherwise even government properties will not be safe.
