
Washington (USA) – US President Donald Trump, in an interview with Fox News, stated that the ongoing war with Iran is now very close to ending. He said that it is almost over and that the next 2 days will be crucial. Trump’s statement indicates that a major decision regarding a ceasefire or peace agreement may be taken soon.
Trump further said, “If the United States had not taken action, Iran would have developed nuclear weapons by now. Iran will take 20 years to rebuild its country. Our work is not over yet. Iran is now eager to negotiate or enter into an agreement. A different kind of regime is now in place in Iran, and the radicals have been removed.”

The International Monetary Fund has warned that if the conflict with Iran escalates further and disruptions in the oil market continue, the global economy could be pushed towards recession. The IMF stated that in the worst-case scenario, global economic growth could decline from the current 3.1 percent to 2 percent. Crude oil prices, currently averaging $110 per barrel, may rise to $125 per barrel by the year 2027.
