Hubballi (Karnataka) – The murder of BVB College student Neha Hiremath had created a massive uproar across the state. Following her killing by the accused Fayaz Khondunaik, suspicions of “love jihad” were raised. Neha’s father, Niranjan Hiremath, had demanded that the case be investigated from this angle.

The case has once again come into discussion after a separate incident surfaced in which a gym trainer from Hubballi, Sameer Mulla, is accused of deceiving Hindu girls by pretending to be in love. Speaking on this, Niranjan Hiremath said, “Fayaz, who murdered my daughter Neha Hiremath, was a trainer at the same gym. This suggests a connection between my daughter’s murder and Sameer Mulla.” He has demanded that the case be investigated from this perspective.

What is the Neha Hiremath case ?

On 18 April 2024, 23-year-old Neha Hiremath was stabbed to death in broad daylight by Fayaz Khondunaik on the premises of BVB College in Hubballi. Neha was the daughter of Congress corporator Niranjan Hiremath.

It was reported that Fayaz had proposed to Neha, but she had rejected him. Holding a grudge over this rejection, he took this extreme step. Fayaz had proposed marriage to Neha, and upon her refusal, he murdered her.

Another “love jihad” case comes to light in Hubballi !

While the case involving Sameer Mulla allegedly trapping Hindu girls in “love jihad” is ongoing, another such case has come to light in Hubballi. A Muslim man named Mufees Miyannavar has been accused of sexually harassing a Hindu girl, and the victim has filed a complaint with the police. The accused works at another gym.

In her complaint, the victim stated that Mufees Miyannavar concealed his identity, trapped her in a relationship, and raped her under the pretext of marriage. The police are conducting further investigation into the matter.
