A Hindu local associate allegedly assisted in facilitating the individual’s unlawful stay in India

Haridwar (Uttarakhand) – Police have arrested a Bangladeshi woman, Saleha Begum, along with her associate Shyamdas. The woman was reportedly living under a false identity using the name “Shruti.” She is alleged to have entered India illegally and obtained an Indian passport using forged documents. According to the Senior Superintendent of Police, she arrived in India from Bangladesh in 2023. Authorities further stated that Shyamdas, identified as her partner, assisted her in residing in the country.
1. Saleha Begum reportedly came into contact with Shyamdas, a resident of Chhattisgarh, through social media. She is said to have separated from her first husband and began living with Shyamdas in Delhi. Even after the expiry of her visa, she allegedly continued to reside in the country unlawfully. The two later relocated to Haridwar.
2. Authorities stated that the duo acquired PAN cards, driving licences, and other identity documents through fraudulent means. These documents were subsequently used to secure a marriage certificate and an Indian passport. (How does Bangladeshi infiltrators obtain Indian identity documents?
