Mother Seeks Justice in Court Against Her Own Son for Misconduct with Daughters-in-law!

Jodhpur (Rajasthan) – The relationship between a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law is often perceived as one filled with conflict. Society has almost taken it for granted that “there will always be friction between them.” However, an incident from Jodhpur has broken this stereotype. A mother approached the court seeking punishment for her own son, who had been harassing and misbehaving with her daughters-in-law. She testified against her son and ensured justice for her daughters-in-law. In this case, the judge quoted a ‘doha’ from the Ramcharitmanas while delivering the judgment.

1. A family from a village in Jodhpur had filed a complaint at the police station. The complaint alleged that the accused had attempted to rape both the elder and younger daughters-in-law of the family. The mother was deeply angered upon witnessing her son’s misconduct towards them. She went to the police station along with the younger daughter-in-law and lodged a complaint against him.

2. In this case, the role of the accused’s mother, who is also the mother-in-law of the two women, proved to be crucial. She recorded her statement at the police station and also testified against her son in court.

3. “What my son has done is unforgivable. You must give him the strictest possible punishment,” the woman urged the court.

4. After the completion of the trial, the accused was found guilty under various sections and was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment.
