Forest guard crushed to death under a tractor by sand mafia in Morena (Madhya Pradesh)

Morena (Madhya Pradesh) – A forest department team that had gone to act against illegal sand transportation in the district was attacked by sand mafia operatives. A sand mafia member ran over forest guard Harkesh Gurjar with a tractor-trolley, killing him on the spot.

According to the police, a 6-member forest department team had reached the location after receiving information about illegal sand transportation. At that time, sand mafia operative Vinod Kori attempted to flee with a tractor-trolley loaded with sand. When forest guard Harkesh Gurjar stepped forward to stop him, Vinod deliberately ran him over and escaped with the vehicle.

District Collector Lokesh Kumar Jangid, Superintendent of Police Sameer Saurabh, and Deputy Conservator of Forest Harishchandra Baghel reached the spot. The police have registered a murder case against an unidentified accused, and further investigation is underway.
