“Earlier, RSS members used to obey the British; now BJP leaders have become slaves of America” : Cong. leader B. K. Hariprasad

Congress leader B. K. Hariprasad’s Bizarre Claim

Bengaluru (Karnataka) – Congress Legislative Council member B.K. Hariprasad criticised that earlier RSS members followed the British, and now BJP leaders have become slaves of America, calling the situation “ridiculous.” He was speaking at a press conference held in Bengaluru.

He further said that when Congress was in power, leaders like Sushma Swaraj and Smriti Irani used to protest in front of Mahatma Gandhi’s statue wearing garlands of vegetables like okra and ivy gourd. However, after Narendra Modi came to power, claims were made about extracting gas from drains, what happened to that gas needs to be examined.

He added that after the BJP came to power, gas prices have crossed ₹1,000, and petrol prices have exceeded ₹100. Even though taxes on petrol and diesel have been reduced, common people have not benefited; instead, companies owned by Gautam Adani have gained more from it.

Hariprasad further stated that when Jawaharlal Nehru formulated foreign policy in 1957, India did not take sides but aligned with nations that served its interests. Today, that policy has changed. Earlier, India used to import petroleum products from Russia, but stopped when the United States advised so. Now, after receiving permission again from the U.S., imports from Russia have resumed.

He reiterated, “Earlier RSS members followed the British; now BJP leaders have become slaves of America.”

Editorial Perspective

Congress has historically been pro-British and even today its leaders like Rahul Gandhi frequently go abroad and make statements against India ! It is because Congress was aligned with the British that they treated the Nehru-Gandhi family leniently while dealing harshly with other revolutionaries, someone should remind Congress leaders of this history !
