
Srinagar (J&K) – The Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested a total of five individuals linked to a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist module (a group involved in planning terrorist activities). Among them are two Pakistani terrorists, while the remaining three are their associates. One of the terrorists has been identified as Abdullah alias Abu Hureira, who had been absconding for 16 years. The other Pakistani terrorist is Usman alias Khubaib.
1. Central security agencies also participated in this operation along with the Jammu and Kashmir Police. Search operations were conducted at 19 locations across Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, and Haryana.
2. During the operation, activities of a Lashkar-e-Taiba terror network were exposed. Those involved were providing financial and other forms of assistance to terrorists.
3. Among the five arrested individuals, three are from Srinagar. Mohammad Naqeeb Bhat, Adil Rashid Bhat, and Ghulam Mohammad Mir alias Mama have been arrested for providing shelter, food, and various kinds of support to the terrorists.
4. The terrorists are believed to have infiltrated India around 16 years ago. During this period, they were active in different districts of the Kashmir Valley and reportedly led around 40 terrorists, most of whom were later killed by security forces.
5. One of the terrorists managed to escape abroad using forged documents, taking advantage of Lashkar-e-Taiba’s network spread across other states.
