Murud: Case registered against woman PWD engineer for accepting ₹2.5 lakh bribe !

Remanded to police custody till 3rd April !

Murud (Raigad) – A woman junior engineer from the Public Works Department, Shraddha Borhade (29), was caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while accepting a bribe of ₹2 lakh 50 thousand.

The accused had demanded ₹3 lakh from a contractor for clearing his final bill related to drain slab construction work carried out in 2024 at Murud–Ekdara, Rajapuri, and Khokhri.

Following negotiations, the amount was settled at ₹2 lakh 50 thousand. The contractor then lodged a complaint with the Raigad Anti-Corruption Bureau, based on which a trap was laid and the accused was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe.

A case has been registered against the accused under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and she has been remanded to police custody till 3rd April.
