Sewri (Mumbai) – Religious fanatics attack Hindu women with iron rods

Case registered against 7 accused

Mumbai – On the eve of Gudhi Padwa, a minor quarrel among children in the Kolsa Bandar area of Sewri escalated into a major clash, leading to violence. During the incident, Muslims allegedly attacked Hindus with iron rods. Two Hindu women sustained head injuries. A complaint has been filed and a case registered against seven individuals.

1. Initially, young girls were teasing each other, which escalated into a fight. Children began throwing empty water containers and pieces of plywood.

2. Seeing this, Rizaya allegedly pulled the hair of Saloni and Renu and pushed them to the ground. The complainant woman and her niece Khushi intervened to rescue them, at that time Sabina and Sana also assaulted them.

3. Rizaya’s husband, Akram, allegedly struck the complainant on the head with a wooden stick, causing serious injury and bleeding. Sabina’s younger brother also attacked with an iron rod. Rizaya’s brother-in-law Shahrukh and Ajgar Ali were also involved in the assault.

4. After an unidentified person informed the police, they arrived at the scene and admitted the injured Hindu women to a hospital.

5. A case has been registered against Rizaya, Akram, Sana, Shahrukh, Sabina, Ajgar Ali, and Chhotu.

Repeated harassment to force Hindus to vacate the area

Local Hindu families have alleged that they have been harassed by Muslims for several days. “These Muslims trouble young girls and women indiscriminately,” they claimed. There are reportedly only two Hindu families living in the area, and it is alleged that they are being harassed to force them to leave. The families have demanded police protection.
