Bogus ‘monk’ falsely alleging deletion of his name from electoral roll during special revision exposed as an impostor !

The claim was made from the stage during the protest led by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee

Kolkata (Bengal) – West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had staged a protest in Kolkata alleging that a large number of names were being removed from the electoral rolls through the Special Intensive Revision campaign conducted by the Election Commission of India. During the protest, a person dressed in saffron robes was introduced on stage as a monk from the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission in Minakhan.

The individual claimed, “I am the president of the Minakhan branch of the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission and have been serving the organisation for the past 14 years.” He further alleged that his name had been removed from the voter list. He added, “I have come to meet the Chief Minister in the hope that this process is withdrawn.”

However, a week after the incident, the Ramakrishna Sarada Mission clarified that it has no branch in Minakhan and that no such monk exists within the organisation. On March 15, in a public notice issued to newspapers, the organisation’s General Secretary, Pravrajika Atandraprana, stated that the claim of any monk being the president of such a branch is completely baseless and misleading. The organisation also clarified that it completely dissociates itself from all such claims and statements.
