Attempt by police to suppress the case of a Hindu woman’s suicide in Mumbai after harassment by a religious fanatic lover !

Police claim it is not a case of “Love Jihad” !

Mumbai – Dr Stuti Sonawane from the Antop Hill area here died by suicide. Her boyfriend Fuzail Mohammad Khan (31) had been subjecting her to severe physical and mental harassment. Unable to tolerate the harassment, she hanged herself. In a six-page note written before her death, she described the mental harassment she faced from her boyfriend. Police have arrested Fuzail Mohammad Khan in this case. However, the police said, “There does not appear to be any element of ‘Love Jihad’ in this case.” (How will such police protect Hindus from religious fanatics ? – Editor)

1. In the note, she first described how the two met, became friends, and later fell in love.

2. She wrote that he had bad habits such as drinking alcohol and smoking. He would speak in ways that felt insulting to her and used hurtful words.

3. He threatened to break her two-wheeler. She constantly feared that due to his male ego he might become violent and kill her. Referring to what his father had said, he would also tell her that “young girls are not good”. He told her that all the money and time he had spent on her had been wasted.

4. Stuti wrote that she was afraid of him. She never felt safe when she was with him; yet she still loved him.

7. At the end of the letter, she apologised to her parents, sister, and her senior Dr Banga. She also expressed regret that she could not succeed in life and could not earn enough money. She wrote that perhaps she would find peace after death.
