Lakshmanpuri (Uttar Pradesh) – Cases have been registered at 84 police stations across different districts of the state against Bihar-based Maulana Abdullah Salim for making objectionable comments about the mother of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

A few days ago, a video of the Maulana surfaced in which he stated, ‘If even 250 grams of the flesh of Yogi Adityanath’s mother is found with anyone, there is an order to shoot that person below the knee and injure them. However, in this state, rapists are not given any punishment.’ The statement sparked widespread controversy. Protests against the remark are continuing in several places, and demonstrators have warned the administration that the agitation will be intensified if immediate action is not taken against the Maulana.
