Bhatkal (Karnataka) – Former BJP Member of Parliament Anantkumar Hegde stated that Hindus have been weakened not by Muslims or Christians, but by internal betrayal within the Hindu community itself. He made these remarks while addressing the “Hindu Sangam” gathering held recently in Bhatkal, which was attended by more than 3,000 people.
“We were not defeated by Muslims or Christians, but by traitors among Hindus.”

Hegde further said, “Secularism, in reality, reflects Hindu values. We have allowed those who came from other countries to build mosques and churches here. Who, then, can claim to be more secular than us ? If someone truly has the courage, they should go to Bangladesh and teach lessons on secularism there. Those who speak about ending the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh are under a misconception. Sacrifices are never made of lions or tigers, but of goats. No one can stop our organisation.”
He also criticised the present education system, saying, “Today’s education system has largely become a means of earning money. In such circumstances, individuals must strive to build a value-based life.”
A heavy police deployment was arranged in Bhatkal city during the event.
