Violence in Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh) after Muslims object to bursting of crackers

  • Incident after India won the T20 Cricket World Cup

  • 10 persons injured

Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh) – After the Indian cricket team won the final match of the T20 Cricket World Cup, some people were bursting crackers on the night of 8 March in Rajroyal Colony here. At that time, Muslims objected to the bursting of crackers and asked them to burst crackers elsewhere. This led to an argument between the two sides. The dispute soon escalated into a violent clash in which 10 persons were injured. A video of the clash has been circulated on social media. The police have registered a case against the accused.

Hindus in the area stated that a few months earlier, Muslims had also objected to the installation of an Idol of Devi in the same colony.

Editorial Perspective

Even after Pakistan was created as a separate nation for Muslims in 1947, such anti-nationals who continue to live in India and attempt to create another Pakistan here should be sent to Pakistan.
