New Delhi – Iran’s Supreme Shia cleric, Ayatollah Khamenei, was killed in an attack carried out by Israel and the United States. In this regard, former Congress president Sonia Gandhi wrote a letter to the Union Government asking, “Why has the Government of India maintained silence on Khamenei’s death?”
Why is the Central Government silent on Khamenei’s death? What has happened to India’s foreign policy? – Sonia Gandhi asks.
When Hindus are killed by religious fanatics inside India, or Hindus are targeted in Bangladesh or Pakistan, has Sonia Gandhi ever raised questions then?… pic.twitter.com/ajVgUls8cD

In her letter, Sonia Gandhi wrote:
1. The killing of the head of a nation in such a manner is a deep wound to contemporary international relations. Prime Minister Narendra Modi merely stated that “this incident is a matter of concern” and gave a limited response, but has remained silent about the manner in which events unfolded. Considering the friendly relations between Iran and India, this silence is extremely disturbing. (Khamenei had extended all kinds of support to jihadist terrorist organisations such as the Houthis, Hezbollah, and Hamas against Israel. It was for this reason that Israel killed him. Additionally, Iranian women protesting against the hijab were allegedly killed and assaulted on his orders. Why did Sonia Gandhi never speak about this? Why should India comment on the killing of such a person? – Editor)
2. A country like India has not taken a firm stand regarding violations of international law. (Many now feel that laws which aid terrorists should be discarded, and that such should be India’s response! – Editor) This sends a wrong message globally. Khamenei was specifically targeted, tracked, and killed. India has maintained a subtle silence on the matter, which is not appropriate. This silence raises questions about the country’s foreign policy and credibility. Therefore, Prime Minister Narendra Modi should clarify his position. (The Congress party has spent its life appeasing Muslims, and because of this, the people have removed it from power. Yet the Gandhi family appears unaware of this reality; hence, such a terrorism-supporting Congress must be politically eliminated from the country! – Editor)
Prime Minister Narendra Modi should take an appropriate stand; Rahul Gandhi’s demand
Amid the escalating conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran, Indian citizens are also affected and facing uncertainty. India should take an appropriate stand in this regard. The issue concerns one crore Indians. India should adopt a firm position on international law and the protection of human life. Prime Minister Modi must take a clear stand, demanded Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi. (Prime Minister Modi has already taken the correct stand, as per public opinion. – Editor)
Editorial PerspectiveWhen fanatical Muslims kill Hindus within the country, or when Hindus are killed in Bangladesh and Pakistan, why does Sonia Gandhi not write letters questioning the heads of those nations ? |
