Former officer K.P. Raghuvanshi claims in his autobiography

Mumbai – Former Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) chief K.P. Raghuvanshi has said in his autobiography ‘Troubleshooter’ that he was pressured to arrest leaders like Hindu Hriday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray and RSS activist Indresh Kumar at different stages of his career, then he had to face the backlash and pay the price for not doing so. Before the end of his tenure, in the year 2010, he was removed from the post of head of ‘ATS’. In 2015, he retired as the Director General of Maharashtra Security Force.
A.N. Roy, former Director General of Police released his autobiography. Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti, former CBI Director Subodh Jaiswal, former DGP Rashmi Shukla and ATS chief Naval Bajaj were present on the occasion.
It states that a senior minister in the then UPA (United Progressive Alliance) government had pressured him to arrest Indresh Kumar in the 2008 Malegaon bomb blast case. Raghuvanshi refused due to lack of evidence. Earlier, a senior minister of Maharashtra had demanded the arrest of Balasaheb Thackeray in connection with the 1993 Mumbai riots. (Will Raghuvanshi reveal the names of these two ministers? – Editor) Jitendra Dixit, a journalist, has mentioned the above. Raghuvanshi currently heads the vigilance unit for IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals.
