Hyderabad (Telangana) – An idol at the Dwimukhi Hanuman Temple was allegedly vandalized by unidentified persons on 24 February. The vermilion (shendur) applied to the idol of Deity Hanuman was reportedly removed. A case has been registered, and efforts are underway to identify and arrest those responsible.
Condemning the incident, Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao demanded stringent action against the culprits. He alleged that repeated attacks on idols of Hindu deities in the state reflect a larger pattern of hostility toward Sanatan traditions. He further claimed that incidents of desecration and targeting of Hindu festivals raise concerns about law and order in the state. Rao also criticized the Congress-led state government, alleging failure to act firmly against anti-social elements and accusing it of engaging in vote-bank politics.
