Editorial Perspectives

  • Navjot Kaur, from Punjab, who was expelled from the Congress a few weeks ago, had alleged that in Congress, one has to bribe Rs 500 crore to become the chief minister. ‘Has this figure become Rs 1,000 crore now ?’ It will not be wrong if anyone questions this way now based on Reddy’s statement !
  • In India, governments of all parties have to collect money in this way and give it to the party. The one who deposits more money is given the post or else he is expelled. Can the country ever  achieve overall progress due to politics of such nature ? Can it be free from corruption?
