Chancellor Friedrich Merz Strongly Opposes Rising Anti-Semitic mindset in Germany

Adopts a “zero tolerance” stance after the Jewish community expresses concern over anti-Jewish hatred

Friedrich Merz

Berlin (Germany) – German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has clearly stated his position against the recent surge in anti-Semitic incidents in the country. Merz said that hatred and hostility toward Jews can be seen among certain Muslim groups, radical German nationalists, as well as communist organizations. Such behavior, he stated, poses a threat to social unity and the values of human rights in Germany.

“We cannot accept any form of hatred against Jews. We stand with the Jewish people in Germany and with Israel,” Merz said.

He further stated that preserving democracy and social harmony in Germany is a primary duty of his government. Any form of religious or race-based hatred must be firmly rejected.

The Jewish community in Germany and several social organizations had expressed concern over rising anti-Jewish hatred. In response, Merz presented this official stance. The government will implement a policy of “zero tolerance” toward anti-Semitism.

Editorial Perspective

  • Eight decades ago, dictator Adolf Hitler carried out the genocide of Jews in Germany. Today, as anti-Semitism rises once again there, the Jewish community is firmly raising its voice in opposition—compelling the German government to take an official stand. Around the same time, Pakistan was created. For the past eight decades, Hindus in Pakistan and Bangladesh have allegedly faced persecution and killings. However, the absence of a strong and united voice against this has allowed the situation to persist. If this silence continues, the very existence of Hindus in these regions may be gravely threatened.
  • For Hindus worldwide, this is a matter of deep concern and introspection.
