8 judges absent !

Jodhpur (Rajasthan) – On 17 February, the Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court, Sanjeev Prakash Sharma, paid a surprise visit to the District and Sessions Court in Jodhpur. During the sudden inspection, eight judges were absent from their respective courtrooms (dais). The list reportedly includes the District and Sessions Judge of Jodhpur as well. All of them have been immediately placed under ‘Awaiting Posting Orders’ (APO) status.
‘APO’ is an administrative position in which an officer is relieved from the current post but is not assigned a new posting.
1. The order was issued by Registrar General Chanchal Mishra. Earlier, on 24 May 2025, six judges had also been placed under APO status.
2. The eight judges have been directed to remain present at the district headquarters until further transfer orders are issued. The decision of the Chief Justice is being viewed as a clear message emphasising the importance of judicial discipline.
