Indian tourists continue to turn their backs on Azerbaijan and Türkiye even in 2025

Fallout of siding with Pakistan during ‘Operation Sindoor’

New Delhi – The number of Indian tourists visiting Azerbaijan has dropped by 63% and that visiting Türkiye has dropped by 34% between June and December 2025. According to the annual tourism data provided by a news channel, this drop has taken place in the last six months of the year 2025 compared to the year 2024.

Azerbaijan and Türkiye supported Pakistan during India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ against Pakistan-sponsored Jihadi terrorists. This has made patriotic Indians turn their backs on Azerbaijan and Türkiye.

1. About 1,53,000 Indian tourists had visited Azerbaijan from June to December 2024; however, from June to December 2025, this number fell to about 57,000.

2. From June to December 2024, the number of Indian tourists that visited Türkiye was 2,05,000; but from June to December 2025, this number dropped to about 1,35,000. Since June 2025, there has been a steady decline in the number of Indian tourists visiting Türkiye and Azerbaijan every month.

3. According to the Azerbaijan Tourism Department, India was among the top 3 countries in sending tourists. In 2024, the number of Indian tourists was 2,43,589; This was an increase of 108% from 1,17,302 in 2023; but in 2025, the situation has changed drastically.

4. During ‘Operation Sindoor’, it was revealed that Türkiye and Azerbaijan had openly assisted Pakistan. Pakistan had used Türkiye-made drones against India and Türkiye had given clear support to Pakistan. Following this, the Indians had demanded a boycott against the two countries.
